Meet Brooke Tjaden: Associate Brand Manager
To truly understand the problems facing pet parents today, it’s important to hire actual pet parents and create a collaborative environment where their experiences can be used to develop further innovations to solve those problems.
Brooke Tjaden is the self-described “epitome of a pet-parent,” and a natural fit for the new role of Assistant Brand Manager position at Kent Pet Group.
An Insider’s Knowledge
Making the transition from Kansas City, Missouri, to Muscatine, Iowa was an exciting development for Brooke.
“My husband and I wanted to move back to Iowa and when the opportunity presented itself for me to work at KPG, I jumped at it,” she said. “I loved the vision of the company and what the products stood for – plus the people I work with are worth it! The people I work with are definite experts in their specific areas, which makes the team more collaborative.”
Brooke is a proud parent to two young dogs: Kinnick, a 3-year-old Shorkie (Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix), and Carver, an almost 2-year-old Yorkie. This lifestyle lends her a unique perspective into the priorities of today’s devoted pet parents. She describes her dogs as having somewhat opposite personalities: “Kinnick is the watchdog of the house – always barking at things he sees outside; meanwhile, Carver is the sweet lap dog who is a major cuddler!”
New Ideas for the Coming Year
Brooke focuses particularly on using her knowledge of our flagship brand World’s Best Cat Litter™ and its core audience’s needs to help drive future innovations.
“World’s Best Cat Litter™ is a leader in product innovation, which benefits the consumer by anticipating what they need before they actually know what they need, in terms of solving issues with cats,” she said.
“By anticipating these needs, we can educate the consumer and deliver a solution that not only meets, but exceeds, their expectations.”
Brooke believes the most important aspect of her job is to make sure consumers are aware of KPG products and to educate them on the unique benefits.
“I’ve been fortunate to work on some great projects in my short tenure at KPG,” said Brooke. “Working on new innovation projects has been my favorite – I can’t say what they are yet, but it’s fun to connect what consumers expect from products and what the white space opportunity is for us to fulfill.”
