A Kitten Story — KPG Employees Help Rescue Orphaned Kitten

There have been a lot of great stories that have come out of Kent Pet Group over the last few months — employee milestones, customer success stories, star interns and more — but this one may be the cat’s meow.

On September 18th, a very young and adorable kitten was found in the parking lot outside our Muscatine headquarters. The kitten, which actually attempted to hop in the car of a Kent Corporation employee, was scooped up, brought inside, and welcomed at the door by a few of our warm employees. Shout out to Lori for rescuing the furry feline and bringing her indoors!

The kitten, despite being so young, was very friendly and social. As word spread around the office, more and more employees stopped by to visit her though out the day. And naturally, it didn’t take long for someone to step up and offer to give her a home.

The orphaned kitten was brought home by Andy, a member of the IT department for Kent Corporation who took the kitten to join his family, which included two other cats. Andy ended up naming the little kitten, Millie — short for Amelia Earhart (Andy just received his pilot’s license). Go Andy!

Millie has since been living her best life. After quickly being taken to see a veterinarian, it was determined she was 8-10 weeks old and was in good health. The little kitty also received her first round of shots and is scheduled to receive more. She was also cleaned up and treated for ear mites. She’s doing just great — and is even starting to get along with her two new cat companions.

And good news, Millie uses World’s Best Cat Litter™ and so far, everything has ended up in the litter box!
